Winter vs Summer: Best Time to Install Epoxy in Florida
Florida's climate affects epoxy installation year-round. Here's when conditions are ideal and when to wait.
Unlike northern states where winter shuts down most concrete work, Florida allows year-round installation — but some seasons are definitely better than others.
The Best: October through April
Northeast Florida's fall through spring offers ideal conditions:
- Air temps: 50-80°F (perfect for epoxy chemistry)
- Lower humidity: 50-70% RH (less moisture interference)
- Concrete temps: stable and moderate
- No afternoon thunderstorms: more predictable scheduling
This is our peak season for good reason.
The Challenge: May through September
Summer in Jacksonville means:
- Air temps: 85-95°F+
- Humidity: 80-95% RH
- Afternoon thunderstorms: nearly daily
- Concrete surface temps: can exceed 140°F in direct sun
We still install in summer — we just adjust our approach:
- Start at dawn (often 6:00 AM)
- Work in covered/shaded areas when possible
- Use summer-grade hardeners with extended working time
- Monitor conditions throughout the day
Our Recommendation
If you have flexibility, schedule for October through March for the smoothest installation experience. But don't feel you have to wait — we've successfully installed thousands of floors in Florida's summer heat.
Book your project and we'll work with the weather, not against it.
